题目：Rapid Aging and Pension Reform: The Case of China

摘 要：This paper quantitatively studies the effects of both demographic change and pension reform on Chinese macro economy, especially focusing on their impact on urban household saving rate and labor supply. Over the past two decades, China has undergone a dramatic process of rapid aging. Meanwhile, the urban pension system in China has also been fundamentally reformed, featuring significantly reduced generosity and a tremendous change in the social security benefit formula. This paper finds that the rapid aging and the pension reform together contribute 14% of the increase in household saving rate from 1995 to 2009 and they jointly capture about 56% of the drastic increase in labor supply for the same period. It also find that response to rapid aging and pension reform via increasing saving rate and labor supply are more significant for older people.

主 讲人简介：何晖，1992年毕业于北京大学，1994年取得北京大学经济学硕士学位之后赴美留学，于2007年获得明尼苏达大学经济学博士学位。先后在夏 威夷马诺大学、上海财经大学就任助理教授，2014年以来供职于IMF.主要研究领域涉及宏观经济学、劳动经济学、健康经济学等，多篇学术论文发表在European Economic Review、Review of Economic Dynamics等国际期刊。
