Abstract
Employing multi-wave data of a national sample, this study compares two nonmarket logics—the state and the family—and examine whether they sustain or fade away in the marketization process of China. In the context of the adoption of employee old-age insurance by private-owned enterprises (POEs), we investigate the wax and wane of two institutional legacies—the state-as-welfare-provider logic based on state-owned enterprise (SOE) lifetime employment and the family support logic based on Confucian filial piety—across regions with different levels of marketization. We conduct a cross-level study on how POE owners’ former SOE work experience and family background reflect macro-level changes of institutional logics. This study makes contributions to institutional logics research by examining varying influences of rival logics across geographical regions when facing the same new logic. It also contributes to studies of substantive CSR initiatives in the context of marketization.嘉宾简介：
杨灵老师现为清华大学经济管理学院领导力与组织管理系助理教授。清华大学汉语言文学系学士及社会学系硕士、斯坦福大学社会学系博士。主要研究领域为组织理论和经济社会学。博士论文是以中国出口玩具行业为案例，对跨国行业自治中的商会谈判、珠三角和长三角对比的制造业产业集群等议题开展定性研究。目前主要专注于定量研究，探讨制度逻辑和社会关系如何影响中小企业合同、融资和政治行为，民营企业与民营企业主的企业社会责任行为、性别导致的绩效差异等等。教授课程包括博士生研讨课《宏观管理理论》与《组织设计与变革》、本科生选修课《管理学概论》与《社会创新与创业》。负责或参与了三项国家自然科学基金和社会科学基金青年项目。国际管理学会会员、美国社会学协会会员、中国管理研究国际学会会员。
