Yang Yongping is a member of National Energy Expert Advisory Committee and was appointed as the President of the North China Electric Power University in November 2016.
From 2002 to 2006, Yang served as Director of the International Cooperation Department of the North China Electric Power University (Beijing), Vice Dean of the School of International Education, Vice Dean of the School of Energy and Power Engineering of the North China Electric Power University, and Head of the Power Engineering Department of the Beijing Campus.
National Energy Expert Advisory Committee provides services for the nation's policy-making by making suggestions on energy strategy and offering solutions for major problems in energy development. The committee has six branches, involving coal, power and nuclear energy, oil and gas, renewable energy and energy conservation.
