主讲：王勇 助理教授（香港科技大学）
Yong Wang obtained PhD in Economics from University of Chicago (2009), where he won the Lee Prize in 2004. His research interests are Economic Growth, Macro Development/Trade, Political Economy, China and India Economies. His recent research topics include structural change, industry dynamics, industrial policies, China’s state capitalism, and mid-income trap. Yong is a Research Associate at the Dallas Fed and was a resident Research Fellow at the World Bank (2010-2011). He publishes academic papers on JDE, etc. Yong was also invited to present his research at IMF, World Bank, US Department of State, and Korea Institute of Finance.

Requirement:
There are two or three research-oriented problem sets.1
(1) For each problem set, you could work with one more student and hand in a joint copy of solutions.
(2) You must type out your solutions.
(3) Feel free to make additional assumptions when you think necessary in solving the problems.
(4) No late problem set will be accepted.
Description of the Course
These lectures are designed to help second-year PhD students get familiar with, and eventually identify a research topic relate to, the recent growing literature on structural change and economic growth. The prerequisite are .rst-year PhD-level courses on Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, and Econometrics. The lectures are part of Prof. Justin Yifu Lin.s graduate course on New Structural Economics.
