题目：Colluding on Surcharges

摘要：This paper investigates the circumstances under which firms adopt a pricing mechanism that consists of a negotiated base price and a surcharge instead of the conventional all-inclusive price. It shows that when firms act non-cooperatively, they adopt this pricing mechanism if buyers’ valuations of the products satisfy a particular condition. Collusion on surcharges without coordination on base prices is more profitable for firms and more harmful to buyers than collusion on all-inclusive prices. In an infinitely repeated game, however, collusion on surcharges is sustainable for a smaller range of time discount factor than collusion on all-inclusive prices.

主讲人简介：陈智琦，长江学者，现任加拿大卡尔顿大学经济系正教授，Journal of Economics and Management Strategy和Frontiers of Economics in China共同主编。他于1985年南京大学本科毕业，1991年在加拿大西安大略大学经济学系获博士学位，同年起任教于卡尔顿大学经济系。 在过去这20多年里，他曾任卡尔顿产业经济研究所主任，渥太华大学－卡尔顿大学联合博士项目（经济学）主任，卡尔顿大学Senate成员，加拿大社会科学与人文研究院（SSHRC）研究经费评审委员会委员，加拿大Canadian Journal of Economics编缉顾问，以及新加坡国立大学高级学者。他的主要研究领域是产业组织和国际贸易理论，曾在American Economic Review、Canadian Journal of Economics、Economic Journal、International Economic Review、RAND Journal of Economics、Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control等国际一流刊物多次发表学术文章。他曾于2000年获卡尔顿大学研究成就奖，自2001年以来他的简历被收入历年的《加拿大名人录》和《加拿大经济界名人录》。
