国际竹藤组织总干事费翰思：竹藤在应对全球挑战中的作用

Bamboo, a fast growing, highly renewable resource found all across the Global South in the tropics and sub-tropics, can play a major role in helping many developing countries to mitigate and adapt to climate change, while also promoting green economies.
竹子是一种生长迅速、高度可再生的资源，在全球热带及亚热带地区均有广泛分布，坚韧的竹子在帮助许多发展中国家应对气候变化方面也发挥了十分重要的作用，同时也促进了绿色经济的发展。
本期“北大公共政策国际论坛” 邀请国际竹藤组织总干事费翰思博士主讲竹藤如何帮助应对全球挑战。

演讲人：国际竹藤组织总干事，费翰思博士
Speaker: Director-General of INBAR, Dr. Hans Friederich
Dr. Friederich is the Director-General of the International Network for Bamboo and Rattan (INBAR), based at its Headquarters in Beijing, China. INBAR is an international Inter-Governmental Organization with currently 42 Member States, dedicated to improving the wellbeing of producers and users of bamboo and rattan within the context of sustainable development.
Dr. Friederich is a Dutch National with more than 30 years working experience in Africa, Asia and Europe as natural resources manager. Strategic planning and long-term thinking has been part of the job for most of his career. Dr. Friederich obtained his PhD from the University of Bristol, Geography Department and started his career in 1982 in Botswana.
He has helped INBAR to make the change from a forestry research institution to a global development organization, through spearheading a new strategy, strengthening the relationship with United Nations and several Global Conventions and launching the Global Assessment of Bamboo and Rattan.
